Stephen Ministry
“The Compassion of Christ”
Stephen Leaders & Stephen Ministers bring the compassion of Christ in a one-to-one caring
relationship to those who are hurting. These warm servants of God are the beneficiaries of an
extensive training program that is designed to develop the skills necessary to become a “listener
with love.” A Stephen Minister’s role may be to serve in the capacity of a confidential, caring
shoulder to lean on, or at other times to simply listen and pray alongside a person who is in need.
Using the gifts of helps and mercy, discernment, and intercessory prayer, the Stephen Minister
creates a safe & secure environment for the relationship to thrive. We consider it a privilege to
be able to offer a Stephen Minister to our congregants and have seen much fruit as a result of
these faithful servants. Being a member of the Stephen Ministry team will give you a glimpse of
the power of God expressed in love and compassion. A Stephen Leader is invited to Cabinet,
which meets monthly.
